Let’s Get Controversial!

Let’s be honest. There’s a 50/50 chance that whoever is reading this is going to disagree with me. And that’s alright! We’re all entitled to our opinions. So I’m going to share my feelings on something I feel very passionate about.

Family.

The reason I’m posting about this on my music blog is because I have been writing music to help support the cause. My music is an extension of who I am and what I believe, and if you enjoy my music, I hope you will take the time to learn about, and at least respect (if not support) what I believe in.

I believe in the traditional family. I believe in husband and wife, and in having children. I believe in having God play an integral part within the family, to help guide in big decisions, such as how many children to have, how to raise them, and how to be a happy family.

I believe that God loves ALL of his children–white, black, straight, gay, rich, poor, every last one of us. I believe God makes us who we are, and I believe that we all have strengths to use, and weaknesses to overcome.

I believe that God is both merciful and just, and I believe that He wants us to live our lives in accordance to His desires for us to be happy. I believe that every commandment He has set for us is only for our good–they’re not restrictions, they’re liberations.

I believe that having family’s are central to His plan for His children, and that traditional family’s are the perfect realm for us to face the greatest blessings and the hardest trials.

I love my family. I love my husband, and we look forward to bringing as many children into the world as the Lord sees fit for us. And as controversies rage on about abortion, homosexual marriage, cohabitation, and the like, we will remain strong in our values and beliefs, and be willing to share with all who will listen. It isn’t our job, or anyone’s job, to bash on others’ beliefs. But it’s what we believe, and it makes us so happy, so I just wanted to share it with you!

As far as the music goes, I have written a few songs on the subject. I should be getting a new piano here in a couple weeks, and then I will post the songs on here. I figure there’s enough songs out there about cheating, casual sex, and the like, so I want to get some songs out there that support the good life :)

Peace!

Teeny.

Life is great.

Texas is awesome. And hot. And rainy. And has fun stuff to do.

We got called as the “CTR 4″ teachers in our ward at church. So, instead of being bored in sunday school, nudging mark to stop playing “cut the fruit” on his iPhone (except for when we make a deal where if he scratches my back, he can keep playing), we’re rounding up crazy 4 and 5 year old boys and girls and trying desperately to get them to listen to us. They’re hilarious, cute, and frustrating as I’ll get out. But we love it.

I have a job at Costco. I’m doing “morning merch,” which essentially means that I get to work at 5am (or 4:30 on saturdays) to stock stuff. It’s not easy, but the pay is great, and I feel much better about myself now that I’m getting up early and working hard almost every day. It’s a great job.

Except for a couple days ago when I sliced my finger open with a box cutter and had to go to the medical clinic.

But most of the time, it’s great.

Mark’s job starts MONDAY! Praise the heavens.

I mean, I love him. And I love having him home. And I really honestly am going to miss him when he’s gone working all day.

But… when he’s bored, he has a tendency to be a little…weird… and act like a 12 year old boy… and not give me any privacy in the bathroom… and watch way too many tv shows…

…But I’ll miss him. Promise.

He’ll feel so much better about himself when he gets working. It’s been a fun couple of months together  but we’re both anxious to get a schedule going again.

So, we’ll both be working. I’m finishing school online, and he is working on his website in his free time. Which is, like, always.

What else… Oh, we got season passes to Six Flags. It’s awesome. Especially since we’re getting old and couldn’t last more than 4 hours at the park without getting headaches and backaches and wanting to eat.  But it will be awesome to have something to use as a common date activity :)

Oh, and Teeny. Here’s the story.

I’m addicted to Craigslist. Let’s be honest. And we’ve been talking about getting our cat, “Tiny,” a friend. Cause he’s just so bored and hyper and needs attention.

I saw an add about a little kitten about a week or two old that needed taken care of. So, naturally, I jumped on it, under the agreement that we “wouldn’t keep it.” Yeah right!

We took her to the vet, and found out it was a girl. Which is what we wanted.

We’ve been debating names for her. I’ve been calling her Sweet Pea because she pee’s all the freaking time and on everything.

But being Tiny’s little sister, we decided to go with Teeny. Cause technically, Tiny was tiny when we got him, but she… she’s just so teeny.

Yeah, she’s perfect. Mark is completely in love with her.

No human babies yet, but soon enough :)
